Why I created Soothing Sleeves

Soothing Sleeves began with a simple wish: to hold on to the comforting connection I felt with a horse between equine therapy visits. I created the original equine-inspired sleeve as a tactile reminder of that bond. Equine therapists and clients of equine therapy have told me that they benefit from petting the sleeve between visits and also use it for comfort during times of stress. Some people later told me they found comfort in their sleeves after losing a beloved horse.

After I lost my beloved dog, April, I created what I called a “Grief Sleeve." It's a soft reminder of the comforting feeling of petting her. That experience inspired me to offer custom memorial sleeves for other pet parents who want to keep a comforting reminder of their beloved companion close.
